Happy Left-Handers Day!

13 Aug

Did you know only 10% of the population of the world is left-handed?  I don’t actually know if that’s true, but it was on wikipedia, so it might be.  With those odds, it’s makes sense to dedicate a day for those lefties forces to adapt to a right-handed world.

M.C. Escher - Drawing Hands, 1948 (Yes, I flipped it)

Here’s a (hugely incomplete) list of famous lefties worth celebrating today:

Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Ben Franklin, Steve Forbes, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Henry Ford, Buzz Aldrin, Matt Groening (and Bart Simpson fictionally), Lewis Carroll, H.G. Wells, Jimi Hendrix, Paul McCartney, M.C. Escher, Robert Deniro, Richard Dreyfuss, Jim Henson, Cary Grant, Dorothy Hamill, Larry Bird, Brady Anderson (you might not know who he is, but I had a HUGE crush on this southpaw in the 9th grade), and Babe Ruth.

Go out and celebrate your lefty pals today!
