Happy Friendship Day!

“Thank you for bein a friend” – Golden Girls

Today is a very special day for BFFs ’round the world.  The first Sunday in August is Friendship Day!  I’m very grateful for my friends, young and old, and I don’t know how to properly thank you all.  Whether we talk all the time or only once in a great while, I truly appreciate your friendship.  Thank you for silly inside jokes (CAFman, Omg, Charlene!, Myaaack and cheese, etc. etc.) and for being patient while I earned my PhD.  Thank you for advice when I may not have asked for it, but definitely needed it.  Thank you for commiserating about relationships, school, work, and so on.  Thanks for celebrating big things (I passed my defense!!)  and little things (omg I got this great deal at Giant. Yes, the coupon doubled!).  And thank you blog buddy for agreeing to make this silly blog with me.  I hope you’re having as much fun as I am.  Thanks guys and gals, you’re swell.

So call up a friend (or text) and reminisce about the time Dorothy injured herself attempting to perform a “Cincinnati time step with a double pull-back.”  Oh, you didn’t see that episode?  Turn on Lifetime at night and you’ll catch up on all things Golden.

Here are a few “Best of BFFs” which can also double as “a look through my hairdo’s across the years.”  Remember to celebrate Friendship Day early and often!

BFFs who drink PBR together at a hipster dance party stay together. MJ and me.

BFFs since 2005. Here we are at Yosemite. Unfortunately, Lisa also recommended this awful mullet haircut. We laugh about it now.

BFFs since 6th grade ladies and gents! Karen and me.

BFF (male category) Tom and me at our friends’ wedding on Halloween. We won best costume (duo category).
